Head Coach
Kevin Sumlin

Kevin Sumlin, a three-time national Coach of the Year finalist, was named Arizona’s 32nd head coach on Jan. 14, 2018. He was formally introduced at a press conference on Jan. 16.

Sumlin came to Arizona after serving as the head football coach at Texas A&M University for the past six seasons (2012-17), compiling a 51-26 record including three bowl victories. He also served as the head coach at the University of Houston for four seasons (2008-11), amassing a 35-17 record. In his 10 seasons as a head coach prior to Arizona, Sumlin compiled an 86-43 record and his teams played in bowl games in nine of those seasons. Click here to continue reading

Noel Mazzone

Taylor Mazzone

Following in his father’s footsteps but looking to make his own mark on the coaching profession, Taylor Mazzone is in his first season as Arizona’s outside receivers coach. Taylor Mazzone comes to Tucson from Texas A&M, where he an offensive quality control coach the last two seasons. Working alongside his father, Mazzone had a key hand in the Aggies’ explosive offensive units in 2016-17. Click here to continue reading

Theron Aych

Theron Aych returns in his second season with the Wildcats after being retained by head coach Kevin Sumlin in January. Aych, who coached all receivers in 2017, will work primarily with the inside receivers in 2018. Click here to continue reading

Assistant Coach / Offensive Line
Kyle Devan

Kyle DeVan was named to the Arizona coaching staff in February of 2019. He will coach offensive line for the Wildcats.
DeVan, who played collegiately in the Pac-12 at Oregon State before a five-year career in the National Football League, comes to Arizona from Ball State. In three seasons with the Cardinals, DeVan coached the offensive line and he was an assistant head coach for the 2017-18 seasons. Click here to continue reading

Assistant Coach / Running Backs
DeMarco Murray

Hired in January 2019, former NFL All-Pro running back DeMarco Murray begins his coaching career at Arizona, where he will coach running backs for Kevin Sumlin.

Murray, who was recruited by and played for Sumlin at the University of Oklahoma, joins the collegiate coaching ranks following a seven-year professional career. He rushed for 7,174 yards and added 2,165 receiving yards while playing in 99 total games for three teams, including the Dallas Cowboys, the Philadelphia Eagles and the Tennessee Titans. Marcel Yates

Marcel Yates returns for his third season as Arizona's defensive coordinator and is re-united with Kevin Sumlin, who he worked for as a co-coordinator at Texas A&M from 2012-13. Yates, who coached linebackers for the Wildcats in 2016 and then cornerbacks in 2017, will again coach linebackers this season. Demetrice Martin

Regarded as one of the top recruiters on the West Coast, Demtrice Martin is in his first season at Arizona. He joined Kevin Sumlin’s staff in the spring of 2018 as the cornerbacks coach. Iona Uiagalelei

Iona Uiagalelei begins his first season as an FBS assistant coach, taking over defensive line duties for the Wildcats following an incredibly successful run as defensive coordinator at Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut, Calif.

While at Mt. SAC, Uiagalalei helped the Mounties win three community college state championships and a pair of national championships. He began as an assistant coach in 2001, before his promotion to defensive coordinator in 2006. Later, Uiagalelei was named an associate head coach and full-time professor in 2010. Chris Singletary

An 18-year veteran working in athletics, Chris Singletary returns with the Wildcats after being retained by head coach Kevin Sumlin in January. In his role, Singletary coordinates all aspects of the program’s recruiting efforts, including the organization of recruiting trips for coaches, and the planning for prospects visits to campus. He also oversees the prospect evaluation process and other operational responsibilities.
